Reds hit 3 homers in 10-3 win over Rockies
CINCINNATI (AP) Chris Heisey gave Cincinnati the lead with his first home run of the season, and four relievers made it stand up as the Reds overcame a poor start by Mike Leake for a 10-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.
Devin Mesoraco and Ryan Ludwick also homered as the Reds picked up their seventh win in eight games.
Rookie J.J. Hoover (1-0), the first Cincinnati reliever, pitched 1 1-3 shutout innings for his first career win. Sam LeCure followed with two innings before Logan Ondrusek and Sean Marshall each added one after Leake, 1-0 with a 1.29 earned-run average over his previous two starts, lasted just 3 2-3 innings. He allowed nine hits and three runs.
Colorado's Jeremy Guthrie (2-3) allowed a season-high 10 hits and tied his season worst by giving up six runs in five innings.
INDIANS-WHITE SOX
Konerko, Viciedo lead White Sox past Indians, 14-7
CHICAGO (AP) Paul Konerko had four hits, Dayan Viciedo homered in his third straight game, and the Chicago White Sox pounded Derek Lowe and the short-handed Cleveland Indians 14-7 Saturday for their eighth win in nine games.
Chicago scored four in the first and four more while chasing Lowe in the third after Cleveland scored five in the top half. Viciedo's two-run homer made it 8-5, and the White Sox pulled away late after Cleveland got within one, tying a season high with their fourth straight win.
They now trail the first-place Indians by just 1 1-2 games in the AL Central and will try to complete the sweep on Sunday, after another impressive day at the plate.
They set season highs for hits (17) and runs and have scored 81 over the past 12 games.
INDIANS INJURIES
Indians' Santana likely headed to concussion list
CHICAGO (AP) Cleveland Indians catcher Carlos Santana appears headed to the seven-day concussion list.
Manager Manny Acta says he'll probably wind up there because of a mild concussion and that shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is day to day because of tightness in his left hamstring. Both players left Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Cabrera hurt himself going after a ball and was replaced in the seventh inning. Santana left in the eighth after being struck by a foul tip.
The injuries are a big blow to a team already missing Travis Hafner. He had an MRI on Thursday on his right knee and took an anti-inflammatory for irritation in the meniscus. He did not travel to Chicago and will be re-evaluated Monday.

Gaven has goal, assist to lead Crew past Fire 2-1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Eddie Gaven scored Columbus' first goal and assisted on the second by Emilio Renteria as the Crew defeated the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Saturday night.
Gaven scored from 19 yards in the 9th minute with a low shot inside the left post for Columbus (5-4-3), which has won two straight and is 3-0-2 in its last five.
Gaven helped make it 2-0 in the 43rd by passing to a posting Renteria, who shirked defender Austin Berry and put the ball into the left corner of the net.
Berry got a measure of revenge when he headed in a service by Daniel Paladini in the 72nd minute for Chicago (5-4-3).
The Fire's Sean Johnson made saves on Renteria in the 80th and Nemanja Vukovic in the 81st minutes to keep the match close.
PIAA TRACK-JAVELIN
South Park's Stanley sets national mark in javelin
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (AP) South Park High School senior Bill Stanley has had a record-setting day at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
Stanley set a National Federation of High Schools and PIAA record in the javelin. On his first throw, Stanley unleashed a toss of 246 feet, 9 inches. That's the best high school toss since the javelin was re-weighted in 2002. The effort broke the mark of 244-2 set by Sam Crouser of Gresham High School in Oregon in 2010.
The throw by the Ohio State-bound Stanley easily eclipsed the PIAA meet record of 224-2 by Cedar Crest's Thomas Jordan in 2003.
NFHS and PIAA records are only recognized in state championship meets.
