Despite falling to the Alabama A&M Bulldogs and losing control of their own destiny, the Jackson State football Tigers still have an opportunity to represent the SWAC Eastern Division in the conference championship game.

The East championship scenario breaks down like this:

* Jackson State (3-3) wins the East with: A win over Alcorn State AND a loss by Alabama A&M to Valley

* Alabama A&M (3-3) wins the East with: A win over Mississippi Valley

* Alcorn State (2-4) wins the East with: A win over Jackson State and a AAMU loss to Valley

Jackson State will face the Alcorn State Braves on Saturday at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kick-off is set for 1 pm.
