The Mississippi College Choctaws narrowly missed an upset of Alcorn State University Monday night, falling 63-61 in A. E. Wood Coliseum.
The Choctaws led 58-53 in the final few minutes but saw an ASU 7-0 gave the Braves a 60-58 lead in the final minute. An E. C. Williams three-pointer put MC back up with 30 seconds remaining, but ASU answered back with a jumper from JaMarkus Holt to go up 62-61.
Trailing 63-61, the Choctaws could not get off a shot in the final two seconds of play.
