Guilty Plea in Drug Trafficking Case

The son of the former Northwest Rankin High School football coach charged in a drug trafficking case pleads guilty to federal charges.

21-year-old Joseph Coates of Pearl pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ecstasy. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. His sentencing date is March 21.

Coates' father, David Coates and his sister, Mary Alice Coates were also arrested in the same undercover investigation that resulted in 14 other arrests.
