Scott County authorities say they are following leads in the murder of George Bates, 56. Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward. Bates was found early Wednesday morning by his daughter in the doorway of a mobile home that he was remodeling. Bates had been shot in the neck off Highway 21 North of Forest. Investigators say Bates was planning to rent the home.
