Governor Haley Barbour says the federal government is refusing to enforce immigration laws, so states have to step in and do the job. While greeting supporters Thursday at the annual Neshoba County Fair, Barbour spoke out against a federal judge's ruling blocking key provisions of Arizona's controversial new law aimed at curbing the flow of illegal immigrants within its borders. Barbour says the first step to solving the problem is for the government to close the borders. At least one Mississippi lawmaker wants the state legislature to take up a bill next year which would mirror Arizona's.
