Jatran Gets 16 New Buses

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The City of Jackson's public transportation system has 16 new buses.
The new buses will replace buses in Jatran's fleet that are old and have high mileage. They will hit the roads next Friday.
Grants from the the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration funded the new buses.
Some commuters say the new buses couldn't come soon enough.
"They break down every so often," said Deborah Byrd.
She says she relies on the bus system when she has to run her errands.
"It's OK. It has its ups and its downs," said Byrd. "Sometimes they come on time. Sometimes they don't."
Michelle Reed thinks otherwise. She rides the bus everyday.
"It's good. I have no complaints," said Reed. "I get where I'm going on time."
Whether they like the bus system or not, many commuters are happy about the new buses.
They tell us with the struggling economy, more and more people are hopping on the bus each day.
