Yazoo City Church Wants To Help Recent Tornado Victims Rebuild

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The tornado count is now up to 12, and across parts of Mississippi residents are just now getting a handle on the clean-up.
A killer tornado ripped through Yazoo City in April. Fortunately, this week's twister wasn't as bad, but for the folks who'd already been through it once this year--enough is enough.
Members of Hillcrest Baptist Church understand what recent storm victims are going through.
The April 24th tornado destroyed their church. No one was hurt, but one church member was trapped for a period of time.
He finally made it out safely, with just a few scratches.
The congregation is still trying to rebuild, and they hope to start a program to help new victims do the same.
"We know these things are in the Lord's hands. We have to cope with what comes," said Reverend Rayburn Freeman. "We know the Lord has taken care of us in the past. We believe he will in the future."
