JACKSON, MISS., -- The world’s newest McDonalds® restaurant opens Thursday morning at 5 a.m. followed with ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at the totally rebuilt Highway 80 location just west of Ellis Avenue. Grand opening will be held Saturday from noon until 3 p.m.
The new McDonald’s will feature dual drive-thru ordering lanes, inside seating for 72 diners and will have a staff of more than 120 associates.
The new restaurant will feature the Jackson State University Sonic Boom theme with three flat screen television monitors featuring Sonic Boom performances, recruitment and departmental films and programming from TV23, JSU’s student-run television station.
The restaurant, located at 2465 Highway 80 West, will feature free Wi-Fi and a state-of-the-art security system.
McDonald’s Owner/Operators Al and Danita Joyner said, “Rebuilding this restaurant is a tribute to our customers, this community and the many associates who have served them for years. We are pleased to partner with Jackson State University to feature the Sonic Boom, and we are excited what the future holds for this restaurant.
