Janice Mowdy and Stephanie Bell both pleaded guilty to the starvation death of Austin Watkins, 4. Mowdy, the boy's grandmother, and Bell, his aunt, both entered their guilty pleas today in Scott County court. With their plea both women will go to prison for life without the possibility of parole. They also avoid a possible death sentence by not going to trial. Mowdy had custody of Watkins after the state deemed his mother unfit to care for him.
