»  Comments | Post a Comment

Police in McComb say their preliminary investigation shows a car was trying to cross the railroad tracks when an Amtrak train hit it.
Three members of one family were killed.
Authorities say 17 year old Latrisha Earl, 12 year old Leroy Hood and 2 year old Makayla Perkins died all died in the Monday evening crash.
Officials say 17 year old Chris Brown survived. He was brought to a Jackson hospital.
Police say all four were thrown from the car on impact.
David Pierce owns an auto repair shop near the crash site. Over the years he's witnessed a number of accidents at the crossing.
He says motorists often ignore the posted stop sign and railroad warning signs on the street.
"I've seen people jump the railroad track. The stop sign don't mean nothing," Pierce says.
