As several bands played at "Hal And Mal's" in Jackson Saturday night, Heather Spencer was remembered.
She was killed in September of 2007 by her ex-boyfriend.
He beat her with a flashlight.
He's now serving a life sentence in prison.
Saturday night Spencer's family and friends held the second annual "Heather Spencer Soulshine Memorial Concert" on her behalf.
"The second anniversary brings back a lot of reflection, and a lot of things we can do to prevent another Heather being taken like my Heather was," said Spencer's mother Linda Francomb.
All the money raised from the concert and the silent auction will be donated to the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Last year, they raised about $10,000 and hope to rake in even more this year.
The concert is something Francomb knows her daughter would be proud of.
"I know she's looking down and she's really admiring what we're doing," said Francomb. "I know she's real happy what we're doing is not only helping other people, but also celebrating her life cause she was the life of our family."
