Flooding Causes Yazoo City School Officials To Cancel Classes

Classes were canceled at Woolfolk Middle School Wedneday. Administrators said heavy rains pushed water under the doors of the school. The superintendent told us there was standing water in the hallways and classrooms.Staff members hope to re-open Thursday. Parents will be notified through the school's automated phone system. Cleaning crews worked all day Wednesday to get the school ready for students and teachers to return. There are sand bags on hand in just case the waters rise again. School officials said flooding is an ongoing problem at the school.
