Expect Cheaper Bills With Mississippi Power

»  Comments | Post a Comment

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi Power Co. says its customers'
electric bills will be cheaper next year.
The company filed its annual fuel cost adjustment on Monday, and
state regulators are expected to approve it.
Leonard Bentz, the Southern District Public Service
Commissioner, says that because of falling fuel prices, Mississippi
Power customers should save 11.3 percent on their bills in 2010.
The company serves 23 counties in south Mississippi. It's a
subsidiary of Atlanta-based Southern Co.
The PSC evaluates utilities' fuel purchases to ensure rate
payers get the least expensive, most reliable fuel available. The
companies are not allowed to earn a profit on fuel costs.
