Pearl Woman Honors Fort Hood Victims

»  Comments | Post a Comment

After President Obama Friday ordered that flags at the White House and all federal buildings be lowered in honor of the Fort Hood shooting victims who died, one Pearl woman was listening.
“I thought I should go out and do that in honor of all of our guys and the families,” she says.
So she untied the rope to the flag flying in her yard and lowered the banner.
“I never thought I’d see this in our nation as far as the military is concerned,” she said.
The stars and bars are near and dear to her heart, her husband and brother both served in the military.
And she says “I have a grandson who was in the navy five years and we prayed for him every day every night.”
Now she's praying for 13 families whose loved ones died defending the flag.
