After a wide turn out in the November elections, no one was expecting those numbers to be topped this Tuesday.
However, many voters and poll workers were a little disappointed by their fellow Jacksonians.
"People feel like the leader of the nation is more important than the leader of the city, but I like here Jackson we need more direction," Rapheal Ward said. "The president can't live in Jackson, but the mayor will always be here."
Fellow voters agreed.
"I believe it's important to vote especially when it's something going on in the community," April Tate said. " Our mayor plays a big part in the city of Jackson."
As for those that were making it out to vote, all were looking for improvements to come after this election season.
"The city of Jackson needs someone strong to get in here and make changed with the economy being so weak," Johnny Simmons said."
Poll worker Linda Thomas says she hopes those that voting, are putting a lot of thought into it.
"I always pray and ask for God to put the right man in office," she said. "And if everyone else does that, the right man for the job will make the next four years run a lot smoother."
