Mississippi State makes a valiant effort in taking on the University of Washington, but it wasn't enough to get the Bulldogs to the next round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The final score was 71 to 58.

In Ridgeland, dozens of hopeful state fans packed Buffalo Wild Wings to root for the Bulldogs. Although managers were trying to keep the cowbells quiet, some fans just couldn't resist.

Mike McFarland, manager and partner of the Ridgeland Buffalo Wild Wings, says the tournament is good for business.

"We're actually up over last year," he said. "We're doing well."

McFarland says his customers see sports as an escape from the bad economy.

"They like having a good time, and I think that gets them out of reality....They come in to have a good time," he said. "As far as going to a game, this would be the next best thing."

But not for Mississippi State fans, who will have to wait until next year to cheer for their team.
