Three men accused of robbing Carter Jewelers in Jackson are behind bars and in another state.
19 year-old Jerron Gray, 22-year-old David Stevenson, and 29-year old Tyrone Stovall face charges of felony possession of stolen property. They were arrested in the Memphis-area during a routine traffic stop. Police searched their car and found the stolen jewelery as well as drugs and a weapon.
Jerry Lake, the owner of Carter Jewelers, says he's glad the men were arrested, but wants to know why it took his security company so long to respond.
"ADT did not get this reported to the police for 5 minutes," he said. "That's too long for a business like this, it needs to go immediately."
Lake says he's complained to ADT about the problem. He says he was robbed four years ago, but the thieves were never caught. After that robbery, he installed video cameras and motion sensors.
Jackson police say they will go to Memphis on Monday to question the suspects.
