Former Mayor Harvey Johnson will also be the next mayor of the capitol city. News Channel 12 called the race for Johnson shortly after the polls closed and the first results started coming. Johnson has served two terms as Jackson's Mayor. He was defeated four years ago by the late Frank Melton.
