A Jackson man charged with statutory rape is out of jail on bond. Investigators said he formed a relationship with a 13-year old girl through text messages. John Blackmon, Junior is charged with sexual battery. Deputies arrested the 22-year-old a week ago. He's since been released from the Hinds County jail on a $5,000 bond. The arrests has some parents being more cautious.
Another Jackson man is accused of having sex with an 11-year-old girl. Anthony Shelby is charged with three counts of sexual battery and two counts of gratification of lust. Investigators said the 21-year-old approached the girl at her home. Her mother saw him and called police. Shelby was picked up Monday.
The cases against Shelby and Blackmon are now headed to the Grand Jury.
