Richland Teacher In Trouble For Shoplifting

A Richland teacher is in trouble after she is accused of stealing items from a department storm.

A hearing is scheduled for Thursday (11/03) morning for a Rankin County teacher accused of shoplifting in Floowood. No word yet whether Bernadine Norsworthy will attend the court proceedings. According to the district attorney the judge will decide whether the case will go to a grand jury. We're told Norsworthy is not required to attend the hearing.
Norsworthy is a physical education teacher at Richland Upper Elementary School. We're told she was teaching on Wednesday (11/02).
She also serves as a Rankin County Election Commissioner.
Norsworthy is accused of shoplifting more than $800 of merchandise from the Flowood Belk store Sunday(11/29).
