Police are calling the shooting death of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair a homicide, but they haven’t yet reached a conclusion about the death of the 20-year-old woman found with him.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said Sunday that the two had been dating the past several months.

Aaron says McNair was shot four times, twice in the head. The woman, 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, was killed by a single gunshot wound. The pistol was found near her body.

The 36-year-old McNair, a four-time Pro Bowl selection who was married with four children, and Kazemi were found dead Saturday at a Nashville condominium he shared with a friend.

McNair played most of his career with the Tennessee Titans before he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He retired last year.

i hope the Good Lord allows Steve to use her head as a football, and try to kick a field goal with it when they both stand b4 Him, for taking a son, and daddy, and husband and friend away. But in reality I believe even Steve just forgives her. He showed so much compassion for others.  Her wiring was seriously defected.  Truly I just wish someone close to her could have done more to get her help and prevent this loss.

Mrs. McNair,

I am truly sorry for your lost and I am praying for you and your family.  Please hold your head high because you are loved by many and God will pull you through this tragic event. Let know one judge you, or take away what you have inside your heart for your husband.  We all make mistakes and I hope you can find the heart to forgive him and keep your good memories alive. God Bless You and Your Family.
