Class 4A Playoffs: Greene County 22 Magee 21

Magee hosted Greene County in a Class 5A second round matchup. Greene County led at the half 14-13, but the thrid quarter belong to the Trojans Cortez Chatman.

Magee tried a trick play when quarterback Brian Mills pitched to Mathew Blue. Blue rolled out to his right with eyes down field and as soon as the defense began to chase him he let the ball fly toward the endzone. Chatman hauls in a touchdown at the back of the endzone and gets his feet in but it doesn’t count. The Trojans are called for an illegal player down field.

Magee kept the drive going and the Trojans take the lead when Mills hits Chatman in the corner of the endzone. Magee goes for two and extends their lead to seven when Mills hits Chatman again in the endzone. The Trojans took a 21-14 lead into the fourth quarter.

Greene County would go on to get a fourth quarter touchdown and decided to go for two and the win. The Wildcats convert the two-point conversion and move on to the Quarterfinals in Class 4A. The Wildcats will now face Lawrence County. Lawrence County defeated Laurel 42-14 Friday night.
