WASHINGTON (AP) - The Democratic-controlled Congress has
approved historic legislation extending health care to tens of
millions of Americans who lack it and cracking down on insurance
company abuses.
The vote in the House was 219-212. Republicans were unanimously
opposed. The bill now goes to President Barack Obama for his
signature.
The action late Sunday capped a yearlong quest by Obama and
Democrats to overhaul the system and reshape a sixth of the
economy.

You as well as i know that situations such as the one you described are sad. But are’nt we already funding programs to help people in those situations like CHIPS, Medicaid? This will only create problems, example: If you pay a child for taking out the trash and doing the dishes this may teach the child that every labor results in pay but eventually the child will neglect the responsibilities and still expect pay. The reason for me saying that was if this program is put into affect you will have the working class Americans funding it and the non working class (which is already draining the economy) taking advantage of it and i dont want my children growing up in a world where they have to try so hard to get ahead only to see freeloaders pass them in success. But I understand there are pro’s and con’s to and issue and thats why there are as many political parties as ethnic groups. Lets not use a quick fix lets find a real solution. Its cheaper in the long run.

I think if those of you who dislike this bill would stop listening to Glenn Beck and other Fox News commentors and judge the bill on its merit you would change your mind!! What’s wrong with allowing children who was born with an illness or develop one as a child to receive health insurance?  Why shouldn’t a child be allowed to stay on his/her parents insurance until he/she reach age 26?  Why shouldn’t everyone be required to pay for his/her doctor’s bill?  The bill address the 3 questions in a favorable way for all Americans.  For some reasons, people think by giving the least of these equal opportunity to affordable, quality health insurance it will hurt everyone.  That’s not true.  The quality of health care in America will increase because there will be competition amongst doctors to increase their case load and profits.

In a since, my statement is being a little misunderstood.  I was only addressing one part of the health bill dealing with pre-existing illness (cancer & heart issues).  I am in support of the bill because we all need health insurance whether we are healthy or not.  I was speaking against the Health bill as a whole.  And frankly, I voted for Obama because he was addressing an issue that every American needs—Health Insurance.

Shame on you people!!! Cant you all see that President Obama is trying to do a good thing? People are just being selfish!!! I believe that they are just against it because Obama was the first President to get this bill passed. That makes me wonder if when Bush was in office would they be against?? I think that this bill is great!!!

Shame on you if you have health insurance and oppose this bill! You are incredibly selfish and really don’t care about the healthcare and well-being of American citizens (including children) that have no health insurance.  Some peope carrying signs around and yelling are not concerned about healthcare.  They just oppose anything President Obama does because of the color of his skin.  There it is, the truth of the matter!!!

I kind of agree with Bitty Ann.  The only part of the health plan that I understand has to deal with pre-existing illness.  Since this health care plan has been signed, those that have pre-existing illnesses are screwed.  We will not be covered by this plan for the first 4 years.  So if we are not working and have coverage now, then we are screwed.
