What Might Happen To Sequestered Jurors In The Carla Hughes Capital Murder Case

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

The judge and attorneys in the Carla Hughes capital murder trial hope to get through the remaining one-on-one interviews with potential jurors Friday. Attorneys have about 30 potential jurors left to interview individually. The judge has asked all of those remaining to bring suitcases Monday because he plans to seat a jury then and he’ll sequester them.
Once testimony begins the judge says it should last 4 or 5 days. Hughes is on trial for killing Avis Banks, 27, who was 5-months pregnant. She was found dead in the garage of her home in Ridgeland in November of 2006. She had been shot and stabbed. Her unborn son also died.

I knew Keyon. I would say about 4 weeks before all this happened I met him for drinks we had a ok time. But he was an arrogant person…just very full of himself…I think he suffered from short man syndrome…We only met that one time and had a few telephone conversations here and there and that’s all. He would say often that he did not want a relationship and that he wasnt ready for marriage! All the while he is engaged to be married!!! He made mention that he had just purchased a house but never that he had a fiance’ and a side chick either for that matter. I was floored. Boy did I dodge a bullet.

I hope someone will follow up on this.
