The 2 day old strike of union bus drivers in the Hinds County School District is over now that the drivers have reached a tentative agreement over pay and benefits from their company. The drivers walked off the job Wednesday morning after they were unable to work with the Hinds County School District as part of their negotiations with First Student. The union is asking its drivers to try to report for work this afternoon to drive students home. This afternoon the union, First Student and representatives from Madison, Yazoo and Clay county school districts also reached a tentative agreement on drivers’ pay and benefits in those districts. News Channel 12 is following this developing story. We’ll have more on this story tonight at 5 and 6.
