Pittman: Had No Intention Of Leaving His Fiancee For Murder Suspect Carla Hughes

» 2 Comments | Post a Comment

Jurors in the Carla Hughes murder trial heard Keyon Pittman describe a sexual relationship with her that he says was just a fling Wednesday during testimony. This was going on while Pittman was engaged.
Pittman says at one point Hughes thought she was pregnant and she wanted him to leave his fiancee Avis Banks for her. Pittman says he had no intention of doing that. Both he and Hughes used to work together at the same JPS school.
During his direct testimony from the prosecution jurors listened intently, but at times some of them smirked and even laughed when the defense cross-examined him. Pittman found Avis Banks’ body in the Ridgeland home they shared in 2006. She had been shot and stabbed several times. The baby also died. Hughes is on trial for capital murder for the deaths of both Banks and her baby.
Evidence presented today showed that Pittman had gunshot residue on both hands, but crime lab investigators said it could have come from touching Banks’ body. There’s been suspicion that Pittman was involved with the murder but the prosecutor says he’s confident the right person is on trial.

I have not dated or even met Keyon but I have dated several men just like him. I unfortunately have been ‘the other girl.‘ My fault for being so stupid but regardless, point is, regardless of their actual intentions on really leaving the other girl, they always are telling the “other woman” that they will. They are just there until the baby comes or its cuz we have a house together….etc. Regardless, there are too many clear cut things here that say AND show that Keyon probably did it and framed Carla. Carla is a smart girl, doubt she is going to kill somebody then kindly place the shoes she wore back in the closet without even cleaning them. He had gun shot powder on his hands…that much transferred…doubt it! He conveniently honked at a neighbor coming home that night (which has been noted that he never had done before) to obviously draw attention to his arrival home. Then, he goes next door with a big scene to call cops when he had a cell phone? Come on… reasonable doubt all the way around it! The alibi he thinks he has from this former ex lover is whack! Men who cheat like that know exactly what to do and say to the ‘other woman.‘ Of course Carla is going to down play their relationship when first interview, this was somewhat of a secret affair and they worked together. Plus he brings food over there…odd! He had motive (doesn’t want to be tied down in marriage and with a baby when he has so many other women options) and he had opportunity before basketball practice or depending on actual time of death. Anyways, I could go on forever. I’m done but Carla may not be innocent but she is NOT guilty based on reasonable doubt in my mind even if I haven’t heard all the evidence.

I knew Keyon. I would say about 4 weeks before all this happened I met him for drinks we had a ok time. But he was an arrogant person…just very full of himself…I think he suffered from short man syndrome…We only met that one time and had a few telephone conversations here and there and that’s all. He would say often that he did not want a relationship and that he wasnt ready for marriage! All the while he is engaged to be married!!! He made mention that he had just purchased a house but never that he had a fiance’ and a side chick either for that matter. I was floored. Boy did I dodge a bullet.

I hope someone will follow up on this.He should have left Avis, he would have done her a favor.
