OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - The University of Mississippi will enforce a rule bars tailgaters from putting up tents before 6 p.m. on Fridays.
The exception is academic departments can put up clearly marked, official Ole Miss tents at 2 p.m.
Andy Mullins, executive assistant to the chancellor and chairman of the Game Day Committee, tells the Oxford Eagle that campus police will enforce the rules after numerous complaints this season about tent vendors setting up early.
Mullins says tents are prohibited from campus before 6 p.m. on Fridays proceeding a Saturday football game. He says the rule applies to all portions of campus, not just the Grove.
Mullins says the university will remove unauthorized tents.
