A Collierville, Tenn., man is free on bond after being charged in a fatal shooting in Mississippi. Officers say Tom Humphrey, 51, was released from the Benton County Jail on $50,000 bond Thursday. He’s accused in the death of Richard Bryson, 50, of Memphis. Benton County Medical Examiner John R. Riles said Bryson was shot Wednesday in the woods in the northwest corner of Benton County, a quarter mile from the Tennessee border. He died on the scene. Riles said a dispute over a land boundary reportedly led to the shooting. Attorney Tony Farese, who represents Humphrey, said the shooting occurred during a struggle for control of a pistol.
