Jackson City Council Confirms New Police, Fire Chiefs

The Jackson City Council voted to approve Rebecca Coleman as the city’s new police chief and Raymond McNulty as fire chief. They voted 5-1 to confirm both Coleman and McNulty this afternoon during a hearing. Councilman Jeff Weill voted against their confirmation. Councilman Kenneth Stokes was not present for the votes. Coleman replaces interim Police Chief Tyrone Lewis. She takes office tomorrow. McNulty replaces Fire Chief Vernon Hughes.Tonight on News Channel 12 at 6 we’ll have live updates on the hearings.
