Hinds County Stimulus Money

Hinds County will get $6.8 million in economic stimulus money for road projects after a recalculation of federal funding.
The Central Mississippi Planning and Development District recalculated the distribution of $12 million in stimulus funds for Rankin, Hinds and Madison counties. The CMPDD in March figured Hinds would get about $3.2 million. But local officials and U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., objected. They said the city of Jackson and Hinds County needed
more money. The CMPDD is now using unemployment rates to distribute the money. Madison will get $2.25 million and Rankin County will receive about $3.1 million.

I think the hinds county stimulus money should be used to fix and buy if needed the sirens for tornados. Their are so many that do not work. It could save so many lives. I think it is the right thing to do.
