Families Remember Crime Victims, Call For Justice
Ceremony Remembers Victims Of Violence
Family members and friends remember loved ones who died violently. Nearly four years after he was shot and killed, Mary Anderson says no one has been arrested for murdering her younger brother David.
“It was 15 of us and he was number 13 and he was the tenth brother,“ she said.
The Anderson family is just one of many still looking for closure.
Linda Brewer’s daughter Linda Franklin was murdered in south Jackson in 2006.
She was killed in October it will be 3 years in October she was shot in the back of the head.
And Franklin’s killer is still on the loose.
In each case these families feel like they are being victimized all over again, they don’t believe police are doing enough to find the person who murdered their loved one.
“The last time I talked with the detectives he said no we don’t know nothing,” says Brewer.
Still, they say seeing other victims’ families gives them comfort and hope.
“That somebody cares besides us, and we appreciate that,” Anderson says.
