Coroner: Jefferson Davis Co. Couple Strangled

  An elderly couple in Jefferson Davis County died of strangulation. The county coroner released this as the cause of death for Cherilene Redd, 70, and her husband Edward, 74.
  A neighbor found them around 9 o’clock Saturday morning in their home near Bassfield.   
  Authorities found the couple’s burning Chevy Lumina Sunday morning about 130 miles away in Jackson County. Witnesses say they saw a man near the car. The Jackson County sheriff says the man is a suspect in the killings. The Mississippi bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
    Investigators say the Redds were dead for at least 24 hours when the neighbor found them. The Redd’s were married 52 years and leave behind 5 children.
