WJTV News Channel 12 is recognized for our coverage of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi.
A group of children performed during a special media appreciation ceremony. The Boys and Girls Club presented our station with a certificate for our overage of the club’s fundraising efforts; they raised $500,000 to keep all six of their clubs open. They serve more than 3,200 children throughout the region.
“The community responded tremendously as to not say not only do we want to keep these clubs open, but we want to continue to keep these clubs open,“ said President/CEO Billy Redd.
Redd says enrollment at the clubs are up this summer.
