A senator and a congressman are hosting several town hall meetings in Mississippi to discuss President Barack Obama’s health care reform plan.
Congressman Bennie Thompson’s first is Monday, here in the metro.
It will be held at M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge on Lynch Street from 6:30 to 7:30.
Many house and senate members are spending their summer break from Capitol Hill, talking to constituents about the president’s plan to revamp the country’s ailing health system.
Senator Roger Wicker is also hosting reform town halls.
One will be next Tuesday, August 25th from 3:30 until 5:00 at the Natchez convention center.
Several of the town halls held across the country have gotten very heated, with opponents and supporters angrily squaring off over the issue.
