Former JPS teacher found guilty of assault

A judge found former Jackson Public School teacher Dr. James Foxx guilty of simple assault Monday afternoon. Foxx will have to pay a $300 fine and will have 6 months of unsupervised probation. According to JPS documents Foxx admits to hugging and kissing a female student and making comments about her legs. Foxx says his actions were not sexual in nature. After the verdict a spokesperson with JPS contacted News Channel 12 to say that Foxx is no longer employed with the school system.
