We talk with one Natchez woman who says she hopes move out of a part-time job and into full-time employment.“Correction Corporations of America” wants to hire more than 400 people to run its new prison in Adams County.
Earlier this week, they held a job fair at the Natchez Convention Center.
The senior director of human resources tells us more than a thousand job hopefuls have applied.
Stella Juneau was one of those applicants.
She is currently retired and works only part time.
“When you retire you take a cut in your pay, but your bills keep going so it is a necessity for me to work outside my retirement,“ Juneau said.
She hopes the Adams County Correction Facility will lock her down in a full time position.
“We have this great facility coming here to open up jobs and this time of need when everybody is really stressed out and pinching pennies. I think it’s great.“
