Joemarrio Evans made his first court appearance Monday. The 23-year-old is charged with capital murder and armed robbery. He’s being held without bond at the Copiah County jail. Police said Evans confessed to the deadly shooting during questioning. He was arrested Friday at a high school football game on the campus of Hinds Community College in Utica. Evans is accused of robbing and shooting a Crystal Springs store clerk on March 6th. Luke Donahoe worked at “Sak-N-Pak” on Newton Street in Crystal Springs for 13 years. After the 29-year-old’s murder people offered thousands of dollars in reward money for information leading to an arrest, including $20-thousand that an anonymous businessman contributed.
