Police Shoot Jackson Burglary Suspect
“I heard about ten to 15 rounds go off.”
After hearing those gunshots, Jimmil Covington quickly urged her family to take cover inside their home.
“Immediately got us all moving and I have a one year old son of course I had to get on the move,” said Covington.
Those shots came from this house where an officer hit one of the men who allegedly pointed a gun at police.
Juanita Williams says, “They don’t care about life, anybody brave enough to pull a gun on the police he know he gonna die or gonna wish he was dead.
Williams says the break-in is a sign the neighborhood is changing.
She says of the alleged burglars, “They have nothing else to do but go and steal something that belongs to somebody else but if one of them come to my house I got something waiting on them.”
Covington’s family has lived here for the past 12 years.
She is surprised to here about a group of teenage burglary suspects targeting her neighborhood.
“For a teen to break in a house I think it’s kind of sad they should be thinking about getting an education and trying to get out of school,” she says.
