2 Die In Copiah County Plane Crash

A small plane has crashed at the Copiah County airport. The county coroner confirms that two men died in the crash. They are Gerry Mosley of Hazlehurst and Steve Davis of Brookhaven. Witnesses say the plane was attempting to make an emergency landing at the airport which is between the cities of Hazlehurst and Gallman. The crash happened around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. The National Transportation Safety Board expects to have an investigator on the scene by the end of the week. Look for updates on the crash investigation here on WJTV.com and on News Channel 12.

I had the pleasure of skydiving with Steve at Gold Coast Skydivers in Lumberton.  He was a great guy and would do anything to help anyone out.  He was also a great Dad to Harley, his daughter.  He will be greatly missed.

My thoughts are with the Mosley and Davis families during this sad time.  Gerry was a good guy and loved flying every chance he could get.
