March For Justice

Sunday will mark 45 years since three Civil Rights workers were murdered in Neshoba County.
Philadelphia’s mayor-elect will speak at a ceremony honoring James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner.
The three were murdered in 1964.
State leaders have also placed a historic marker on Highway 19… near where the men were murdered.
Edgar Ray Killen was convicted in 2005 for their murders.
He is behind bars at the state prison in Rankin County.
But there are many other cases with no arrests ever made.
That’s why Saturday morning, a march for justice was held in Philadelphia to commemorate the march Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led there in 1966.
The march started at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and ended at the Neshoba County Courthouse.
“Sometimes we have to find different forms of justice,“ said Carrie Johnson, who’s grandfather was killed in 1961. “I pray that a form of justice will be found and accepted, if it’s not courtroom justice.“
