Jackson Voters Still Undecided
Voters divided about Jackson mayor's race
Questions about the number of candidates and that they are saying to win votesCandidates’ campaign signs are on every corner, billboards high in the sky, and their commercials have blanketed the airwaves for weeks.
Still just hours before the polls open, many voters are undecided about who should be Jackson’s next mayor.
“It’s really too many running”, says Shalece Barnes.
That’s why she says she can’t settle on one candidate.
“Give me a couple to choose from not 18, 17, 16,” Barnes says.
“It’s a lot to consider,” says Alma Stokes.
Even so, Stokes is getting close to a decision. “There are a few good ones that I’m looking at but most likely tomorrow I’ll know which one out of those,” she said.
Kenneth Pope likes a number of the candidates. But he’s not sure about the promises they’re making to win votes.
“Really truly we gotta have a mayor that is going to do what they say they are going to do,” he says.
