Fire In Byram

A massive fire destroys an apartment complex in Byram.  It happened Friday at around 7:45 p.m. at The Reserve in Byram.

A Hinds County Emergency Management official says they’re checking each apartment to make sure everyone escaped.

 
Jackson’s Fire Department assisted Byram’s Fire Department with fighting the blaze.  An entire apartment building at The Reserve was destroyed.  One man we spoke with says he tried to alert as many people as he could when he saw the fire stretching into the sky.

“We proceeded to knock on each door to alert the homeowners that the place was on fire,“ said Melvin Bonds, who lives at The Reserve.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the blaze.
