Elderly Couple Killed in Crash

Investigators are trying to determine what caused an elderly Clinton man to crash his vehicle into a tree, killing himself and his wife. Jackson Police say 74-year-old James Gaughf and his 82-year-old wife, Beulah, were transported Monday to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said Beulah died in the emergency room and her husband in the operating room. She said it is unclear whether the two were wearing seat belts.
