The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for 400,000 Simplicity drop side cribs. The CPSC says the hardware from in the cribs can break or deform which can suffocate or trap babies. At least one child has died.
The drop side can detach and create gaps between the mattress and the side of the crib. Small children can get caught in these spaces.
Simplicity has recalled almost 2 million drop side cribs in the past 2 years.
