Clinton Junior High School Teacher of the Year

Lynne Waterbury received a BS in Education and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Mississippi College. She has taught honors pre-algebra and seventh-grade math at Clinton Junior High since 1986. “I think it is important that the material is presented so that it relates to real life,” she said. “I teach ways that certain material will be used for specific jobs or in particular career paths. … My students know I enjoy teaching math.” Said Clinton Junior High Principal Anthony Goins: “Her commitment to working with students, teachers and parents has earned her an enviable reputation as an excellent teacher who truly cares about people and Clinton Junior High School. Mrs. Waterbury has an ability to get everyone involved in all activities.”
