Closing Arguments Being Delivered in Carla Hughes’ Murder Trial

Jury could get the case Monday night. Carla Hughes’ murder trial is taking place in Canton, Mississippi. Hughes is accused of stabbing and shooting Avis Banks and her unborn baby. Banks was murdered outside her Ridgeland, Mississippi home in November 2006.

I know that the banks family can finally have closure with this case being over, but i still say if you do the crime, you do the time. I se where carla father ask to spare his daughter life, now how do you think that Mr. Banks feel about his daughter that was bruatally ,murdered at her home and the most sad part about it was that she was 5 months pregnant. an innocent woman coming home from work not knowing that this will be her last day on earth, i don’t feel sorry for carla at this point because what she did was un called for now you have to suffer the consquences.
She was found guilty on both counts. This is not a time to rejoice, this is a time to pray!! Pray for all involved, including Keyon.
These comments are geetting pretty humid. Anyways I know someone mentioned we should not judge, but hey I call it like I see it. Mr. Pittman isn’t the most likeable person. I wouldn’t let this clown date my dog. He has to be a smooth talker cause there is nothing else there. As for Carla, I think she should have taken the stand. Which makes me believe that she was involved in some kind of way. I wouldn’t kill a cockroach over that loser. He isn’t worth mud on the bottom of a shoe. I really hope that there is justice for Avis and her unborn son. I bet Keyon Shyttman is sitting his old man looking self up there with his new wife just downing Carla and probably Avis too. He really wasted a whole box of Kleenex for nothing. They would have done better by giving them to a child in school who maybe can’t afford Kleenex. Shyttman thinks he’s slick by saying he hugged and kissed Avis while dead, so there is a reason for the gunshot residue to be on him an even for his dna or particles being on Avis. The guy worked with him said his stank self left the practice before 7:00. He also didn’t give the man a ride home or even the child that he always take home. I think the detectives for JPD or whomever needs more training. This case is too advance for them.

If God will forgive Carla of Murdering Ms Banks and her and Keyon’s child, He will definitely forgive me of saying that she is guilty as SIN! as MuDear says, “haleluyer!“
I have been watching this trial myself. First, none of has a right to judge Carla nor Keyon Pittman. There is only ONE that knows exactly what happened and who is responsible for Ms. Bank’s death, and that is God Almighty. We are so quick to judge based on what we hear, however, sometimes TRUTH is stranger than fiction! There are a few facts to this story. One, had Keyon never been doing what he was doing, maybe Ms. Banks would still be alive. Two, It is a terrible tragedy that an innocent person and a precious unborn baby had to die in such a greusome crime. Third, regardless of the opionions any of you have about this woman or man, God WILL hold you accountable for your judgements on both of them. He loves Carla and Keyon the same way that he loves each and every one of us, REGARDLESS of what we say, or do on this earth. If we ask for forgiveness, he is FAITHFUL AND JUST to forgive us ALL! Emotions can make sane individuals do insane things. And if many of us are not careful, someone may find themselves in Carla’s shoes or worse one day. It would be a shame to end up in a situation similar to Carla and have to ask God to forgive you for the judgements you passed on someone else and now that you are in the same boat, you wish everyone would believe that you were innocent and to have mercy on you! Think about things you say about people that you know NOTHING about and speaking on events that you were not there to witness!
To lookat@me, I got your comment, and I am not trying to be the judge in this case, or trying yo judge someone personally. I am like everyone else with an opinion. If you do not like what I said, then TOO DAM BAD! Looking at the expressions on her face says to me “I’m Caught!“. By the way, I would not be looking the “same dam way”, as you put it; even if I had to fake it. She’s not sorry, only sorry she got caught up with. So, with your inability to judge personalities, take a class dumb-dumb! Ms. Hughes and Mr. Pittman are LIARS!!!!!!!!!! God have MERCY on their SOULS!!
People Keyon is not on trial Carla is. IF he did have something to do with it, he was smart enough to frame a dumb dumb with degrees who was to stupid to defend herself when she had the chance and tell the truth to the police officers. It could have been simple to say I have had a gun in my possession, and Mr. Pittman has had access to it. I don’t know about you, if I was not guilty, I would have been singing like a bird. If you start lying, it is because you are trying to save your own butt. I have been in a serious situation before and i don’t care if you call me a snitch or not. I have my freedom, because I didn’t do anything wrong!!! So all that victimization of Ms Hughes saying she lied because she was scared is a bunch of crap! I told the truth, and she could have too!!!!!!! I have no sympathy. Stop all that pointing the finger at Keyon now, she had the opportunity to give information, to have him sitting right besides her if she wanted him so bad. Her own uncle and cousin gave info that put her where she is!!!!!!!!
Is it just me or did anyone else notice the way Ms. Hughes cut her eyes at the attorney that delivered the rebuttal closing argument when he explained that Avis was the one with the own home, new car, baby on the way and laying next to Mr. Pittman at night and that Avis had everything that Ms. Hughes wanted? She continued to look him up and down and cut her eyes at him as if to say “you MFer”
Also, during the closing argument from the prosecution, she literally got “hot around the collar” and noticably aggitated when the attorney described in detail his theory of what happened the evening of the murder and the actual details of how Ms. Banks was murdered. Ms. Hughes became noticably aggitated and began running her fingers around her collar.
Just thought these two points were interesting.
there must be alot of friends and relatives submitting these comments . stay on the subject, pray for these people and let justice be done
