Jackson launches its 2009 street resurfacing project.  It’s worth more than $26 million dollars.  Mayor Frank Melton says cuts in the 2009 fiscal budget freed-up some money along with a bonding program.  Neel-Schaffer and IMS Engineering are managing the project.  Work started Friday at the intersection of Summit Drive and Hollywood Avenue.  Work will continue simultaneously across the city’s seven wards.  If there’s no weather problems, work is expected to be completed in the next 4 months.

Watch the video to hear from Mayor Melton and other city officials about the project and how your tax paying dollars will be at work.
