Venders Showcase Goods At The 2009 Mississippi Market
Jackson, Miss., (May 2009) – More than 100 vendors are registered to showcase their products and goods at the 2009 Mississippi Market. The two-day business-to-business wholesale event will be hosted on June 4-5, 2009, at the Mississippi Trade Mart in downtown Jackson. Show hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day.
Hosted annually by the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), this year’s Mississippi Market offers a diverse field of products and services. More than 600 buyers and retailers from Mississippi and eight surrounding states registered for last year’s show. They represented gift shops, florists, drug stores, gourmet stores, interior designers, boutiques and clothing stores, jewelry stores, garden centers and other specialty shops.
“This year’s Mississippi Market will be bigger than ever,” said Elizabeth Taylor, one of the event’s coordinators and a member of MDA’s Existing Industry and Business Division. “We anticipate a packed house with more artisans, craftsmen and other unique Mississippi vendors on hand to showcase their products. The event is a retailer’s or buyer’s dream.”
All buyers are encouraged to pre-register by May 31. Registration, however, will be available on-site with the proper credentials. The Mississppi Market is not open to the general public.
Vendors and buyers are encouraged to visit the Mississippi Market website at mississippimarket or call 888.886.3323 for more information.

The Mississippi Market is the only state-sponsored event of its kind designed to specifically promote products from its home state. The Market features many types of products, all of them unique and all products of Mississippi craftsmen, manufacturers, wholesalers and artisans. Meanwhile, a lot of people would love to start a garden. You can have a garden of indeterminate size – those with the land can have a garden the size of a carport, and others can start a tiny one on their apartment balcony, and you don’t need to worry about water rights, floods, or getting a lot of fertilizer or compost for a small herb garden that would fit in a suitcase. Starting one isn’t terrifically expensive, and you can wind up with a few perennials that continuously yield or some annuals that are worth re-seeding and perpetuating. Many plant flowers, others start small food crops, but it might be worth a cash advance to start your own pet garden.
