JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Ronnie Spector of The Ronettes says she
knows what it's like to grow up as an outsider. That's why she's
headlining a benefit concert for the lesbian teenager who sued her
school district to bring a girl to prom. Spector will perform at
the concert June 25 in Woodstock, New York. Proceeds will go to a
college fund for Constance McMillen and the ACLU Lesbian Gay
Bisexual Transgender and AIDS Project. McMillen sued her school
district in Mississippi when prom was canceled after she asked to
bring her girlfriend as her date.
